I tried the ice plunge at Phoenix Fitness for the first time and it was amazing. Gary was very informative from the moment I walked through the door about the process, benefits, and what I should expect afterward. After signing the waiver Gary gave me a couple of minutes to get myself ready and prepared for the plunge and was extremely professional and respectful, knocked before coming in (as I had to change into a bathing suit for the plunge), and guided me through how to get into the tub properly, what not to do and ultimately made me feel very safe and comfortable as I was experiencing the ice plunge and its amazing effects- initial shock, shaking, extreme cold, going into fight or flight mode, etc. Overall, the experience was thrilling and I do plan on going regularly, even through the winter as it wasn’t bad at all when I went (6 am) and had to go straight to work afterward. 12/10 do recommend it, and if you’re on the fence about it, just go for it- you won’t regret it.

I experienced my first cold plunge at Phoenix Fitness and have come back 2 more times because the experience has been great each time. The cold plunge is done in a private room at the back of the gym. They give you a couple of minutes to change and mentally prepare yourself for the cold plunge in that back room. The first 2 times Coach Gary guided me through the entire experience offering encouraging words to meet the 10-minute mark. This time I felt confident enough to do it on my own and used their guided video to walk me through the steps. Being in the cold bath is more of a mental challenge than it is an actual physical challenge but again Coach Gary is there to walk you through it all. I use plunges to regulate my anxiety whenever I’m having a particularly tough time. As someone who's always buried in work, those plunges are like a lifeline, giving me a chance to reset, and tackle whatever comes my way with a clear head. I will be coming back.
